The Helmholtz Institute Mainz

The Helmholtz Institute Mainz (HIM)  kindly offers their premises for the SPICE Workshops. It is located on the Campus of Johannes Gutenberg University in the immediate vicinity of the SPICE Center. It is easily accessible by a 30-minute train or car ride from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA).

How to travel to HIM

From Frankfurt International Airport to Mainz Main Station

From FRA Regionalbahnhof, take the regional train RE2 direction Koblenz, RE3 direction Saarbrücken or the city train S8 direction Wiesbaden to Mainz Hbf (Mainz Main Station).

It takes about 30 minutes from Frankfurt Airport to Mainz Main Station.
From Mainz Hbf (Mainz Main Station), take tram lines 51 (platform A) or 53 (platform L) direction "Lerchenberg" or alternatively bus lines 54 / 55 / 75 / 650 and leave at the station "Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg". Then please walk straight along the university kindergarden towards HIM.
You don’t need to buy another ticket, as you Train ticket will be valid for the tram aswell.
If you didn’t arrive by train, please buy a short-hop-ticket (Kurzstreckenticket).

Taxi ranks are located outside Frankfurt Airport. It costs around 80-90€ to travel directly to HIM.
Or
Taxi ranks are located outside Mainz Main Station. It costs around 15-20€ to travel directly to HIM.
