Magnetic toroidics and unconventional responses

SPICE Workshop on Unconventional Superconductors and Magnets May 12th - 14th, 2026

Magnetic toroidics—grounded in magnetic‑toroidal multipoles—offers a concise symmetry‑to‑response roadmap for magnets with vanishing (or tiny) net magnetization. We begin with the canonical toroidal‑dipole metal, outlining its symmetry and responses, and then extend to p‑wave (spin‑helical) magnets and S‑type altermagnets, which exhibit, respectively, unconventional anomalous Hall effects and magnetoelectric responses.
