SPICE Workshop on Ferrons and Magnons: friends or foes? July 7th - 9th, 2026

Elementary excitations of order parameters and their propagating waves in the solid state have been intensively studied and widely applied. Here, we report the all-electric excitation, detection and manipulation of coherent polarization waves in ferroelectric epitaxial films using microwave antenna techniques. Coherent propagation of polarization waves over a distance of nearly one millimetre and its gapped dispersion are observed in self-organized antiparallel-coupled ferroelectric domains. Such polarization waves can respond directly to an external electric field, which modulates their frequency, amplitude and phase.
