We discuss various dynamic and static couplings of fluctuating and ordered altermagnetism to strain degrees of freedom. In particular we discuss the impact this has on the phonon spectrum, the Elasto Hall Conductivity and the Hall viscosity that may all serve as tools to identify this interesting state of matter.
