Minimal Kitaev chains: toward braiding and fusion

SPICE Workshop on Quantum Matter for Quantum Technologies, May 21st - May 23rd 2024

Rubén Seoane Souto

The possibility of engineering artificial Kitaev chains in arrays of quantum dots coupled via narrow superconducting regions has emerged as an attractive way to realize Majorana states [1]. In this presentation, I will discuss an experimental route toward quantum coherent experiments based on Majorana states appearing in minimal Kitaev chains, ie. two dots coupled via a superconductor. I will analyze proposals for qubits, Majorana fusion, and braiding [2].
