Topological spin moire: stability, dynamics, and controllability

SPICE Workshop on Spin textures: Magnetism meets Plasmonics, July 23rd - 25th 2024

Yukitoshi Motome

Topological spin crystals like magnetic skyrmion lattices are given by superpositions of multiple spin density waves. We regard them as "spin moire" and discuss their stability, dynamics, and controllability. Specifically, we will focus on the mechanism called "itinerant frustration", which arises from coupling between itinerant electrons and localized magnetic moments, and present our recent progress in understanding the phase diagrams and their peculiar dynamics in applied magnetic field and electric current for a wide range of spin moire from one to three dimensions.
