Hybrid Quantum Systems Probing Solid-State Excitations

SPICE Workshop on Hybrid Correlated States and Dynamics in Quantum Materials, May 14th - 16th 2024

Hans Huebl

Hybrid quantum systems take advantage of the unique features of quantum physics and quantum measurement protocols to realize sensing concepts beyond the limits of classical physics. This in particular requires the integration or coupling of solid-state excitations to readout elements on a quantum-mechanical level.

In this presentation, I will discuss the solid-state implementation of spin-photon and spin-phonon hybrids probing magnetic and phononic excitations and will address how this hybrids can help investigating fundamental properties solids via their excitations.
