Introduction to the basic ideas
Active group activity based on these practices (groups)
Analysis and deconstruction of the activity

Afternoon Session

13:30 – 15:00 Design of an active module: the participants will do this for their own courses that they are teaching
15:00 – 15:15 Coffee Break
15:15 – 16:15 Mentoring and Teaching Philosophy Statements (reflective writing)
16:15 – 17:30 Design of an active module part 2

 

Friday, November 30th

08:30 – 10:00 Implementation of the participant’s design active module and feedback from the other participants
10:00 – 10:15 Debrief of active learning exercises
10:15 – 10:30 Coffee Break
10:30 – 12:00 Individual Development Plans to Promote Early-Career Faculty Success
12:00 – 13:00 Further discussion and future planning
