Schloß Waldthausen

For our workshops we frequently use Schloß Waldthausen, a 19th century castle situated in Lenneberg Forest, in the immediate vicinity to Mainz. It's picturesque architecture and beautiful park make the castle an ideal place to concentrate on physics in a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere. With twelve conference rooms of different sizes, eight group rooms, all the necessary technical equipment, a restaurant, wine bar, and comfortable guest rooms, all on the castle's grounds. Below is the information on the venue (travel, floor plans, check-in, etc.)

How to travel to Schloß Waldthausen

From Frankfurt International Airport to Mainz Mainz Station

Take the regional train S-Bahn line S8 from FRA Regionalbahnhof, track 3 to Mainz Hbf, direction Wiesbaden. Do not take S9 which also goes to Wiesbaden but skips Mainz Main Station.

The ride from Frankfurt Airport to Mainz takes about 26 minutes.

NOTE: The ticket is also valid for the bus in Mainz so if you come from FRA do not buy a bus ticket at Mainz Hbf (it cannot be reimbursed if you submit the S-Bahn ticket).

From Mainz Main Station (Hbf) to Schloß Waldthausen

Take bus line 64 direction Budenheim from platform F.

You can pay directly to the driver or get a ticket at the automatic ticket machines (Note from above that if coming from FRA you do not need to buy a ticket). It is a few minutes walk from the stop to the castle:

Restaurant times:

Breakfast:07:00 to 09:00 a.m.

Lunch: 12:00 to 01:45 p.m.

Dinner: 06:00 to 07:30 p.m.
